We need more women in government. It’s plain and simple. Tonight, a rock star panel - hosted by Glamour magazine and Editor-in-Chief, Cindi Leive, moderated by Chelsea Clinton and featuring EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, Sandra Fluke, Christine Quinn, Nicolle Wallace, Abby Huntsman Livingston, and Amy Holmes – will discuss getting more women involved in politics.

There are more women running for Senate than ever before – and every EMILY’s List challenger is poised to become the first woman senator to represent her state. The growing momentum of women winning special elections and an ever-expanding House field means the march to a Democratic takeover of the House is being led by women candidates.

Just yesterday, EMILY’s List endorsed Grace Meng – a true progressive and champion for women – for Congress in New York’s sixth congressional district. With the EMILY’s List community larger and more energized than ever, 2012 is shaping up to be an historic year for women.

This panel marks the launch of 92Y’s “Campaign for the American Conversation,” a new initiative to promote a better informed and more involved electorate engaging in civic and civil conversation. For more information and to join the conversation, visit http://www.92YAmericanConversation.org

Tune in tonight to the free live webcast at 8 pm (EDT) to join the discussion. Watch live with us below and join us on Twitter (@emilyslist) with the hashtag #women2012 to continue the discussion. You can also leave your thoughts in the comments below.
