Yesterday, Scott Brown joined the ranks of conspiracy theorists the world over in his newest attack against Elizabeth Warren Elizabeth Warren’s daughter. Even for this original Tea Party senator, this is a new low. His claim? That Elizabeth Warren’s daughter, Amelia Warren Tyagi, has in some way used her role as a board member at Demos to promote her mother’s election efforts.

The results are in for last night’s Missouri Senate primary. As Todd Akin starts his Tea Party victory lap, we cannot even begin to tell you how important this race is in keeping our Senate majority this November. Claire McCaskill has demonstrated time and again her commitment to the women and working families of Missouri. Since elected in 2006, she’s worked to protect small businesses, close the wage gap, and expand access to family planning and quality healthcare.

Cheri Bustos is running for Congress in Illinois’ 17th district. Her opponent is Tea Party-backed Republican Bobby Schilling. Although Schilling is an incumbent, Obama won the district in 2008, which makes the 17th district crucial for Democrats looking to take back control of the House. Cheri Bustos is a rock star candidate and is poised to do great things for Illinois and the country. But what you may not know about her is that she’s a grandmother, an athlete and an incredibly generous person.

Last summer, 17-year-old Savannah Dietrich was sexually assaulted by two teenage boys. Not only did they attack her, they also took photographs of the incident and shared with others. The two teenage boys recently accepted what Dietrich found to be a lenient plea bargain and have yet to be sentenced. In the meantime, court rules legally prevented Dietrich from ever speaking publicly about her attack and its perpetrators.
