What a week. After an incredible and inspiring week at the Democratic National Convention, EMILY’s List is fired up and ready to work hard to give President Obama the Democratic House and Senate he needs. Check out the slideshow of our photos from Charlotte below and share our favorite moments from the Town Hall to the Convention floor.
Paul Ryan’s work of oral fiction…er…Convention speech certainly had all the fact checkers riled up last night. Ryan’s loose relationship with the truth stretched out to health care, Medicare, the deficit, the US’s credit rating, and the closing of a GM plant in Wisconsin.
Last night was an exciting night in Arizona. EMILY’s List candidate, Kyrsten Sinema, won her hard-fought primary in Arizona’s new 9th district. With Sinema’s victory and long-time EMILY's List champion Ann Kirkpatrick’s win in AZ-01, EMILY’s List has now won 12 of 17 competitive primaries among fully endorsed EMILY’s List candidates this cycle.

But when you have to resort to sexist and disgusting rhetoric to make a point, you’re not only not funny, but you’ve gone too far.
Today we are excited to celebrate the 77th birthday of Social Security -- a critical program that year after year has helped American women take care of themselves and their families. Social Security is one of America’s greatest promises; you pay into a system for your entire working life on the premise that one day it will pay you back. Women across the country have earned these benefits and depend on them throughout retirement.
With the selection of GOP extremist and social-engineer Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s running mate—the stakes for women just got that much higher. Paul Ryan’s record is considered more conservative than Dick Cheney’s, and his suggested policies could be just as (if not more) detrimental to women and families.
It’s a big day in presidential politics. Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate. The Vice President pick says a lot about a nominee’s legislative priorities, and with Ryan joining Romney on the ticket, we think there are a few things you should know.
